Barbara Sartorius Bjelland is an author, artist and chaplain currently living in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Barbara’s published works include an inter-generational book on communion, book reviews and academic journal articles. Barbara has undergraduate degrees in art and history and graduate degrees from Regent College and Seattle Pacific University in theology and spiritual formation. She grew up in Minneapolis and Cuernavaca, Mexico—places that gave her a lifelong love of sky-blue waters, colorful artwork, and imagination. As an adult, Barbara has lived in Wales, travelled to Italy to see Fra Angelico’s frescos in the San Marco Convent, and worked in Canada where she taught ice skating lessons to children from around the world. She especially appreciates her husband when he gives her something warm or furry for Christmas. Barbara lives with her husband, her son and daughter, and her golden retriever.
